[20/01/2023, 12:02:21] RD: Like what happened with TR in April, I increased his fee like 3x because he was being a diva Title
TR Not Booked For Subsequent Events Description Due to TR's behaviour at the Diáspora @ Old Gore Barn event on 24/04/2022, he was not booked for subsequent events, including Diáspora @ RAF Wynton, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire (15/07/2022) and Diáspora @ Imperial College, London (Kensington) (11/07/2023). This decision was based on PM's verbal advice, which highlighted that the band needed a male vocalist who contributed positive energy to the group dynamic. For Diáspora @ RAF Wynton (15/07/2022), BL was booked in place of TR, which resulted in a smoother, more positive experience. Similarly, for Imperial College (2023), BL was re-booked, reinforcing the decision that a more professional and positive dynamic was necessary. Although BL required additional expenses for travel from Ely, he was transparent about the costs upfront and provided a truly professional performance, despite numerous challenges at the event. Notes Comments Following the event at Old Gore Barn, TR noticed the absence of further gigs and contacted RD on 15/09/2022 to inquire about future bookings. RD, mindful of Claire’s advice to avoid upsetting musicians, did not respond to TR’s inquiries directly. He was unsure how to deliver the news tactfully, as he did not want to alienate TR. In retrospect, a more thoughtful and clear message could have been crafted to explain the reasoning behind the decision not to book TR without causing undue disappointment. Despite the lack of bookings, TR expressed a continued interest in working with the band and reached out again on 18/10/2022, indicating that he would be available for gigs in London. While the exclusion was based on his behaviour, TR remains open to future work with the band, which highlights the importance of maintaining clear communication and managing expectations. Moving forward, it will be essential to manage TR’s expectations and behaviour more effectively to ensure a more harmonious working relationship. Providing clear, professional, and constructive feedback when necessary will be key to maintaining a positive working dynamic within the band.
